Our bursary is named after the late Bill Breuer, a member of the board for the St. Croix Theatre Company and playwright in residence. When the bursary was designed, it was intended to celebrate the extra-curricular achievements of youth in the community, particularly through theatre and stage performance. That spirit, we believe, is what Bill embodied as well- a love for acting, a passion for creating, and a celebration of performance.

We renamed the burary to the St. Croix Theatre Company Bill Breuer Bursary- a small gesture that commemorates and celebrates a man who dedicated his life to the craft, and left it all on the stage.

We hope that recipients will carry such a spirit with them as they pursue their post-secondary endeavours. The spirit to do your very best, in whatever it is you set as your goal, and a drive to accomplish them, no matter the size.
